By accessing or using Universal PDF Converter ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the modified Terms.

2. Description of Service

Universal PDF Converter provides online PDF conversion services, allowing users to convert PDF files to various formats including but not limited to:

• Image formats (JPG, PNG, WEBP, SVG, TIFF, BMP, etc.)
• Document formats (DOCX, DOC, TXT, RTF, ODT, etc.)
• Spreadsheet formats (XLSX, XLS, CSV, etc.)
• Presentation formats (PPTX, PPT, ODP, etc.)
• E-book formats (EPUB, MOBI, AZW3, etc.)
• Other formats (HTML, XML, JSON, etc.)

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

While basic services may be available without an account, certain features may require registration. When creating an account, you must:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your password
• Be at least 13 years of age
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:

• Upload files containing viruses, malware, or harmful code
• Convert files that infringe on intellectual property rights
• Use the Service to distribute illegal content
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Use automated tools to abuse the Service
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code

5. File Upload and Processing

5.1 File Ownership

You retain all ownership rights to files you upload. By uploading files, you grant us a temporary license to process and convert them as requested.

5.2 File Limitations

Free users are subject to the following limitations:

• Maximum file size: 50MB per file
• Maximum conversions: 10 per hour
• File retention: 1 hour after conversion

5.3 File Deletion

All uploaded and converted files are automatically deleted from our servers within 1 hour. We do not store or access the content of your files beyond what is necessary for conversion.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, features, and content, is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

6.2 Your Rights

You represent and warrant that you have the right to upload and convert all files you submit to the Service, and that doing so does not violate any third-party rights.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
• Warranties that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• Warranties regarding the accuracy or reliability of conversions
• Warranties that files will be secure from unauthorized access

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
• Damages resulting from unauthorized access to your files
• Damages exceeding the amount you paid for the Service in the past 12 months

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Universal PDF Converter, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Files you upload to the Service

10. Premium Services

Premium subscription plans may be available with additional features:

• Unlimited file size
• Unlimited conversions
• Priority processing
• Advanced conversion options
• API access

Premium subscriptions are billed according to the selected plan. Refunds are subject to our refund policy.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for:

• Violation of these Terms
• Fraudulent or illegal activity
• Abuse of the Service
• Non-payment of fees (for premium users)

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

13. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law.
